Maybe you weren’t born with a silver spoon in your mouth, but like every American, you carry a deed to 635 million acres of public lands. That’s right. Even if you don’t own a house or the latest computer on the market, you own Yosemite, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and many other natural treasures.
— John Garamendi

For summer vacation this year, we planned a 2.5 week trip to California and despite the usual sibling disagreements, everyone seemed to have a great time.

We started out in Yosemite, first in the southern part of the park at an airbnb, then we drove to the northern end and stayed at Rush Creek Lodge (my new favorite hotel).

Ideally we would have loved to camp, but reservations are not easy to come by.
