10 Happy Things for February

HAPPY FEBRUARY!

Let's be honest, winter is long and grey - so why not take some photos along the way? (Ha!! I rhyme).

10 HAPPY THINGS

As always, this list is pretty random, but hopefully something on it will bring you joy!
-------

1. 11 things to cook in February.

Plus, Goop's annual detox has some recipes that look wonderful.
-------
2.  Currently Reading. Watching. Listening.
-------
3. We're in the process of remodeling our entire first floor (including the kitchen), so I've spent a lot more time than usual looking at design blogs and gallery walls - I really love this one (with the "hidden" tv).
------
4. How do we know what happens to us isn't good?
-------
5. Freya and I spent the week of Thanksgiving in Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, and Disney) and I finally blogged about our trip. Click here to see.
-------
6. Not really happy, but somewhat fascinating - "There is no past, there is no future. Everything is present, everything is a while ago, and it’s all brutal and strange.”
-------
7. How beautiful are these photos?

Also, I love this print.
-------
8. Wolf Trap's summer line up.

Also, I just spent a day here with my teenage daughters and we had so much fun.
-------
9. I recently blogged some new wedding, engagement and family sessions. Click here to check it all out (if you're considering hiring me as a photographer I HIGHLY RECOMMEND perusing my work first).
------
10. 12 Valentine's Day Gifts.

RECENT REVIEWS

As cliched as it sounds, reviews mean the world to small businesses like mine - so THANK YOU again to everyone who wrote one!!

"Choosing Darcy was one of the smartest decisions I made planning our wedding. She was responsive, professional, and easy to work with during the planning process. Her final work perfectly captured everything I wanted to remember about the big day: moments of screaming joy, teary-eyed emotions, etc. We look like ourselves but having the absolute best day of our lives, and I cannot find the words to express how precious that is. She was also a total ninja on site. After posed shots before the ceremony, I don't think I saw her again until the speeches, but somehow she got shots of us whispering, laughing, and all our guests, families, the cake cutting, etc. Magical. 20/10, cannot recommend highly enough!! We did a family session with Darcy in 2023 and it was the easiest and funnest time! I was nervous beforehand about how it would work, especially since I personally don't like being in photos that much, but Darcy made it so natural and organic. You feel like you know her from the second she arrives and the time flies by. The photos really captured our whole family's personalities, right down to our pups! Wish I had another reason for Darcy to take photos soon. - Carolyn

"From the moment we met Darcy, we knew our couple's portrait session was going to be special. Darcy possesses not only an incredible talent for photography but also an exceptional ability to make you feel completely at ease. The session with my fiancée was filled with laughter and genuine moments, thanks to Darcy's friendly and professional demeanor.

Darcy's attention to detail is remarkable. She found the perfect lighting and backgrounds that complemented us as a couple, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. Her creativity shone through in every shot, making each photo unique and personal.

The final photographs left us in awe. Darcy captured our love and connection in a way that was both natural and artistically beautiful. The colors, the angles, the moments – everything was pieced together flawlessly. These photos aren’t just images; they are treasured memories that we will cherish forever.

What truly sets Darcy apart is her passion for her work. She went above and beyond to ensure our session was enjoyable and the results were more than we could have ever hoped for. Her ability to capture the essence of our relationship in her photos is a testament to her incredible skill as a photographer.

In summary, Darcy is an outstanding photographer whose work is a blend of art and emotion. We highly recommend her to any couple looking to capture their love in a timeless and beautiful way. Thank you, Darcy, for giving us memories that we will treasure for a lifetime." - Michael
